It is native to the Northern Hemisphere, and is found in North America, Europe, and Asia. It typically grows in wet, shady places, such as in moist forests, and on the banks of streams and rivers.

Sphagnum beringiense has small, yellow-green flowers with four petals. Its seeds are small and black. The seedlings are small and have a single, heart-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Sphagnum beringiense can be propagated by division of the plant or by spores. It prefers moist, shady areas and can be grown in a pot or in the ground. It needs to be kept moist and should be fertilized regularly. It is also important to keep the soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5.
