Description
Selago pachypoda (also called the Thick-stalked Selago, among many other common names) is a small, erect shrub with a rounded crown and a single trunk. It is native to the Northern Cape and Namibia and grows in sandy soils in semi-arid regions.
Uses & Benefits
Selago pachypoda is used in traditional medicine to treat skin diseases, as well as to treat fever and inflammation. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens.

The flower of Selago pachypoda is a small, white, star-shaped flower with five petals. The seed is a small, black, round seed. The seedlings are small, green, and have a single pair of serrated leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Selago pachypoda can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a well-drained soil. Cuttings should be taken in spring or summer and rooted in a sandy soil. Plants should be grown in a sunny position in well-drained soil.
