Chaenostoma impeditum is a perennial herb that can be propagated by seed or division. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate some shade. It can be propagated from cuttings in late summer or early fall. It is best to water the plant regularly, but not too much, as it is susceptible to root rot.
