Description
Saxifraga gemmipara (also called 'Gemmipara Saxifrage', among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Himalayas and Tibet. It grows in alpine meadows, scree and rocky areas, and prefers moist, well-drained soils. It has small, white flowers, and its leaves are generally divided into three leaflets.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Saxifraga gemmipara has white flowers with yellow centers, and the seeds are small and black. The seedlings are small and have green, oval-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Saxifraga gemmipara is a hardy perennial that is best grown in moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It is easily propagated by division in spring or by seed. It can also be propagated from cuttings taken in summer.
