Description
Acer yaoshanicum (also called Yaoshan maple, among many other common names) is a species of deciduous tree in the family Sapindaceae. It is an evergreen tree that can reach up to 10 m in height. It is native to Japan and Korea. It is found in forests, often in rocky areas, at altitudes of 0-2000 m.

Cultivation and Propagation

When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Cuttings of half-ripe wood, 5 - 8cm with a heel, July/August in a frame. Layering in late summer. Takes 1 year.
