                        Cultivation and Propagation

Samyda yucatanensis is a tropical evergreen shrub that can be propagated from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer or early fall. The cuttings should be taken from the current season's growth and should be about 6 inches long. Dip the cut end in a rooting hormone and place in a well-draining potting mix. Keep the soil moist and place in a warm, bright location. The cuttings should root in about one month.
