Description
Salix flabellaris (also called Willow, among many other common names) is a species of willow native to China, Japan, and Korea. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree, growing to 5–10 m tall, with a trunk up to 20 cm diameter. It grows in moist soils in open areas, near streams, and in wet meadows.
Uses & Benefits
Salix flabellaris is used for making baskets, furniture, and other items. It is also used as a windbreak and for erosion control. The bark of the plant is used for tanning leather and for making dyes.
