Description
Zanthoxylum ekmanii (also called Ekman's Prickly Ash, among many other common names) is a deciduous shrub or small tree native to French Polynesia. It has a rounded crown and can reach heights of up to 20 feet. Its leaves are pinnately compound and have a pungent odor when crushed. It is found in moist woods, thickets, and along streams.
