                        Description
                        
                            Sorbus thibetica (also called Tibetan Whitebeam, among many other common names) is a deciduous tree that grows up to 10m tall with a rounded crown. It is native to China, India, and Nepal and is found in forests, scrub and thickets.                         
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Sorbus thibetica is used as an ornamental plant, for its edible fruits, and for medicinal purposes. The fruits are used to make jams, jellies, and syrups.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            Sorbus thibetica has white flowers, each with five petals and numerous yellow stamens. The flowers are followed by small, round, red fruits, each containing one or two seeds. The seedlings have a single cotyledon and long, narrow, serrated leaves.                        
                     
                                
                
                
                                    
                        Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Sorbus thibetica is a deciduous tree that can reach up to 15 m in height. It prefers full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Propagation is usually done by seed, which should be sown in the fall or early spring.
