Acaena microphylla can be propagated from hardwood cuttings taken in autumn. The cuttings should be taken from the current season's growth and should be 10-15 cm long. Dip the cuttings in a rooting hormone and plant them in a potting mix of equal parts peat moss, perlite, and sand. Place the pot in a cool, bright spot and keep the soil moist. The cuttings should root in 4-6 weeks.
