Platycaulos cascadensis (also called Cascade gentian, among many other common names) is an herbaceous perennial with a stem up to 1 m tall. It is native to the Mediterranean region, from Spain to Turkey, and is found in grasslands and scrub at altitudes of 1,000-2,000 m. It prefers moist, well-drained soils.
