Description
Isopterygium novoguinense (also called 'New Guinea Isopterygium', among many other common names) is a small, perennial, evergreen fern that is native to tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It has a creeping rhizome and small, round, glossy fronds. It grows in moist, shady places, such as in the understory of forests.

Isopterygium novoguinense has small, white flowers, with a single seed in each capsule. The seedlings are small, with a single leaf. The leaves are ovate, with a pointed tip and a rounded base.
