Description
Potamogeton tepperi (also called Tepper's Pondweed, among many other common names) is an aquatic plant species of the family Potamogetonaceae. It is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It grows in still or slow-moving water bodies, such as ponds, lakes, and rivers.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Potamogeton tepperi has small, white flowers that appear in the summer. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings have two or three narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Potamogeton tepperi is a hardy aquatic plant that can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers full sun to partial shade and can tolerate a wide range of water depths. It can be grown in water up to 1.5m (5ft) deep. It is best planted in a container or in a pond with a substrate of gravel or sand. It can also be grown in a bog garden. It is best propagated by division in early spring or by seed in late spring.
