Description
                        
                            Rumex japonicus (also called Japanese Dock, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to East Asia. It has a creeping rhizome and its stems are erect, up to 1 m tall. It is found in moist meadows, riverbanks, and roadsides.

                            Rumex japonicus has small, yellowish-green flowers that are clustered in a dense, rounded head. The seeds are small, dark brown, and have a hard, shiny surface. The seedlings are small and have a single, long, narrow leaf.                        
                     
                                
                
                        Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Rumex japonicus is a hardy perennial plant which can be grown in full sun or partial shade. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and can tolerate temperatures down to -20°C. Propagation can be done by division in spring or by seed in spring or autumn.
