                        Description
                        
                            Torreyochloa viridis (also called Green Torreygrass, among many other common names) is a species of grass native to the western United States and Mexico. It is a short, tufted grass with green spikelets. It grows in dry, open areas, such as grasslands, deserts, and disturbed areas.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Torreyochloa viridis is used as an ornamental plant, for erosion control, and as a soil stabilizer.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            Torreyochloa viridis has small, yellowish-green flowers that bloom in the summer. Its seeds are small, brown and oval-shaped.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Torreyochloa viridis is a perennial grass native to the United States. It grows best in full sun and well-drained soils. Propagation is by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring or summer in a sunny position. Division can be done in spring or autumn. The clumps should be divided into smaller pieces and replanted.
