                            Sporobolus helvola (also called Pale Dropseed, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to the United States, Mexico, and Central America. It grows in dry, sandy soils, and can be found in deserts, grasslands, and disturbed areas. It has narrow, flat leaves and grows to a height of up to 2 feet.

                            Sporobolus helvola has small, white flowers that are arranged in a spike-like inflorescence. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings have narrow, grass-like leaves.
