                        Description
                        
                            Pseudopentameris brachyphylla (also called Short-leaved False Oat Grass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, North Africa and Asia. It grows in moist meadows, grasslands, and other moist habitats.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Pseudopentameris brachyphylla is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used as a medicinal plant to treat fever, headache, and other ailments.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            Pseudopentameris brachyphylla has small, yellow flowers that are arranged in a spike-like inflorescence. The seeds are small, dark brown, and ovoid in shape. The seedlings have a pair of cotyledons that are broadly ovate and have a toothed margin.                        
                     
                                
                
                
                                    
                        Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Pseudopentameris brachyphylla can be propagated from seed or division. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining, sandy soil mix and kept moist. Division is best done in spring or early summer. The plant should be divided into sections with at least two shoots each.
