                        Description
                        
                            Phippsia algida (also called Cold-Tolerant Phippsia, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, North Africa, and temperate Asia. It grows in moist, low-lying areas, such as meadows, pastures, and riverbanks.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Phippsia algida is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae, native to the Arctic region. It is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a medicinal herb. It is known to have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.

                            The flower of Phippsia algida is a small, white or pinkish spike, with a single spikelet at the end. The seed is a small, dark brown caryopsis.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Phippsia algida is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub that can reach up to 4 m in height. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soils. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a warm, sheltered spot.
