Description
Miscanthus villosus (also called Hairy Miscanthus, among many other common names) is a species of grass found in Central and South America. It is a small perennial grass with dark green leaves that are up to 5 cm long and 1 cm wide. The inflorescence is up to 15 cm long and bears up to 30 yellow flowers. It is found in humid forests from Mexico to Bolivia.
Uses & Benefits
Miscanthus villosus is a popular ornamental plant and is often used as a groundcover in gardens. It is also used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments.
