                        Description
                        
                            Ischaemum sayajiraoi (also called Sayajirao's Ischaemum, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to India. It has long, narrow leaves and small, yellowish flowers. It is found in moist, shady habitats such as forests and grasslands.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Ischaemum sayajiraoi is used as an ornamental grass in gardens and landscapes. It is also used for erosion control and as a cover crop.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            The flower of Ischaemum sayajiraoi is a small, yellow spikelet with awns. The seed is a small, dark brown caryopsis. The seedlings are small, with a single leaf and a short stem.                        
                     
                                
                
                
                                    
                        Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Ischaemum sayajiraoi is a perennial grass that can be propagated by seed or division. It prefers well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade and should be watered regularly. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures down to -10°C (14°F).
