                        Description
                        
                            Glyceria maxima (also called Reed mannagrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe and Asia. It is a tall grass, growing up to 1.5 meters in height, and prefers moist, wet habitats such as marshes, streambanks, and lake shores.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Glyceria maxima is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and is also used for erosion control and as a soil stabilizer.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            Glyceria maxima has small, greenish-white flowers with a single pistil and three stamens. The seeds are small, round and black.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Glyceria maxima is a perennial grass that is native to North America. It can be propagated by seed or by division of the rhizomes. It prefers moist, fertile soils and can tolerate some shade. It is best grown in full sun in cooler climates and partial shade in warmer climates.
