                        Cultivation and Propagation

Festuca laegaardii is a perennial grass that is easy to propagate from seed. It prefers full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate some shade. It can be propagated by division or by seed. Divide the clumps in early spring or fall. To propagate from seed, sow the seed in early spring in a well-prepared seed bed. Keep the soil moist until germination occurs. Seedlings should be transplanted when they are about 3-4 inches tall.
