Description
Austroderia turbaria (also called Turbaned Toe Toe, among many other common names) is a tall grass native to New Zealand. It has long, narrow leaves and grows in damp, open areas.

Austroderia turbaria has small, yellowish-green flowers that are clustered in the leaf axils. The seeds are small, black and shiny, and the seedlings have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Austroderia turbaria is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub that can reach up to 4 m in height. It is best grown in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained, sandy soil mix and kept moist until germination. Cuttings should be taken from new growth in spring or early summer and should be rooted in a well-drained, sandy soil mix.
