                        Description
                        
                            Andropogon platyphyllus (also called hairy bluestem, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to North America. It is a warm-season grass that grows in clumps and can reach up to 6 feet in height. It has a hairy stem and a light green to blue-green foliage. It is found in open woodlands, prairies, and meadows, and prefers moist, well-drained soils.
