Piper peculiare (also called 'Pimenta-de-macaco', among many other common names) is a species of plant in the Piperaceae family. It is native to Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, montane forests, and disturbed areas.

Piper peculiare is a perennial shrub that grows up to 3 m tall. It is native to South America and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Propagation is done by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist. Cuttings should be taken in spring or summer and rooted in a moist soil mix.
