Peperomia discifolia has small, yellowish-green flowers that appear in clusters and are followed by small, round fruits. The seeds are small and black in color. The seedlings are thin and have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Peperomia discifolia is a small, evergreen perennial that typically grows to 8-12” tall. It is native to tropical rainforests of South America. It is grown primarily for its attractive foliage that consists of fleshy, heart-shaped, dark green leaves (to 1” long) with purple undersides. Tiny, insignificant, greenish-white flowers appear in summer in axillary spikes. Propagation is by stem cuttings.
