Description
Freycinetia takeuchii (also called Pandanus takeuchii, among many other common names) is a species of climbing plant in the Pandanaceae family. It is native to Southeast Asia, New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. It grows in tropical and subtropical forests, and is an epiphyte, meaning it grows on other plants. It has long, thin, waxy leaves that are arranged in a spiral pattern.
Cultivation and Propagation
Freycinetia takeuchii is a shrub or small tree, up to 4 m tall. It can be propagated from seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained, moist soil mix and kept in a warm, humid environment. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood and placed in a moist soil mix. Both methods should be kept in a warm, humid environment until the plants are established.
