                        Cultivation and Propagation

Odontites purpureus is a small, perennial herbaceous plant that grows in moist, shady areas. It can be propagated by division or by seed. When propagating by division, the plant should be divided in the spring or fall, taking care to keep the roots intact. When propagating by seed, the seeds should be sown in a cold frame in the spring. The seedlings should be transplanted to their permanent location when they are large enough to handle. The plants should be spaced about 8-12 inches apart.
