                        Description
                        
                            Castilleja parviflora (also called Small-flowered Indian Paintbrush, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Orobanchaceae. It is a perennial herb with a hairy stem and yellow, orange, or red flowers. It is native to western North America, from British Columbia to California, and can be found in grassland, chaparral, and oak woodland habitats.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Castilleja parviflora is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a ground cover. It is also used to attract butterflies and bees to the garden. The plant is drought tolerant and can be used in xeriscaping.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Castilleja parviflora can be propagated by seed, division, or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or autumn in a well-drained seed compost. Division can be done in spring or autumn. Cuttings should be taken in summer or autumn. The cuttings should be taken from the side shoots and should be about 5-7 cm long.
