                        Description
                        
                            Castilleja nivea (also called Snowy Paintbrush, among many other common names) is a perennial herb with a woody base and hairy stems. It has bright yellow-orange flowers and is native to the western United States, growing in dry, open habitats such as sagebrush and pinyon-juniper woodlands.

                            Castilleja nivea is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and is also used in rock gardens.
