Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame, and the seedlings should be potted up when they are large enough to handle. Division should be done in early spring or autumn. Cuttings of side shoots can be taken in spring or summer and should be rooted in a cold frame. The plants should be divided every 3-4 years to maintain their vigour.
