Description

Phainantha laxiflora (also called Laxiflora, among many other common names) is a species of flowering shrub in the family Melastomataceae. It is native to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. It is a small shrub, reaching up to 2 meters in height with a trunk diameter of up to 5 cm. It is found in tropical wet and moist forests, as well as in disturbed areas.
