Description
Miconia russea (also called 'Pau-de-espinho-vermelho' and 'Café-de-espinho-vermelho', among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree with a rounded crown, reaching up to 10 m in height. It is native to the Atlantic Forest biome in Brazil, and is found in moist forests, often near rivers.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Miconia russea is white or pinkish, with four petals. The seed is a small, dark brown, globose capsule. The seedlings have opposite, ovate to elliptic leaves.
