Description

Waltheria scabra (also called 'Rough Waltheria', among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Malvaceae. It is native to South America, and is found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It is an erect shrub, growing up to 1.5 meters tall, with small, ovate leaves and small, yellow, five-petaled flowers.

Waltheria scabra is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a ground cover. It is also used as an erosion control plant.
