Pavonia senegalensis (also called Senegal Mallow, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Africa. It has a woody base with soft, hairy stems and leaves. It typically grows in moist grasslands and savannas.

Pavonia senegalensis is a small, evergreen shrub native to tropical Africa. It is usually propagated from seed, which should be sown in a warm, moist environment. The seedlings should be transplanted to individual containers when they are about 4 inches tall. Once established, the plants should be watered regularly and fertilized every few weeks.
