Cola minor (also called Kola nut, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Sterculiaceae family. It is native to tropical Africa, and is found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, and Zambia. It grows as a small shrub, reaching heights of up to 5 meters, and has small, leathery leaves.
