Stigmaphyllon tarapotense (also called Tarapoto Stigmaphyllon, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 8 m tall. It is native to Central America and South America. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, tropical and subtropical moist montane forests, and tropical and subtropical dry forests.

The flower of Stigmaphyllon tarapotense is white or pinkish, with five petals and a yellow center. The seeds are small, round, and black. The seedlings are small, with oval-shaped leaves.
