Struthanthus rubens (also called Red Parrot Flower, among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to tropical and subtropical regions of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. It grows in a variety of habitats, including tropical and subtropical dry forests, tropical and subtropical moist forests, and tropical and subtropical moist montane forests.

The flowers of Struthanthus rubens are white or pinkish-white, with a yellowish-green center. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings are small and have a single, oval-shaped leaf.
