Cultivation and Propagation

Passovia subtilis is a deciduous climber that grows in moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. Propagation is done by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring in a seed tray and covered lightly with soil. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into individual pots and grown on in a greenhouse or cold frame until they are large enough to plant out in their permanent positions. Cuttings can also be taken in spring or summer and rooted in a pot of moist compost.
