Description
Campylopus longicellularis (also called Long-celled Campylopus, among many other common names) is a small moss species with a short, erect stem and a tuft of leaves at the top. It is native to North America, Europe, and Asia, and grows in moist, shady habitats.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Campylopus longicellularis has small, white flowers with four petals and four sepals. The seeds are small, black and glossy. The seedlings have a single, short stem with two small, opposite leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Campylopus longicellularis can be propagated by division of the rhizomes or by spore sowing. It prefers moist, shady conditions and can be grown in a variety of soils. It is best grown in a humus-rich, moist soil in part shade.
