Description
Heterocladium macounii (also called the Macoun's heterocladium, among many other common names) is a species of moss found in North America, Europe, and Asia. It is a small, tufted moss with green to yellow-green leaves that are up to 2 mm long and have a pointed tip. It grows in moist, shady habitats such as woodlands, meadows, and along streams.

Heterocladium macounii has small, yellow-green flowers, with a seed capsule that contains small, dark-brown seeds. The seedlings are small and have a single leaf.
