                        Description
                        
                            Ocotea brevipes (also called 'Short-stalked Ocotea', among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree native to Costa Rica and Panama. It can reach heights of up to 30 meters and has a trunk diameter of up to 40 cm. It is found in tropical lowland and montane rainforests, as well as in secondary forests.

                            Ocotea brevipes is used in traditional medicine for treating fever, pain, and inflammation.
