                        Description
                        
                            Laurus novocanariensis (also called Canary Islands Laurel, among many other common names) is an evergreen tree native to the Canary Islands. It has an upright, pyramidal shape and grows up to 20 meters tall. Its bark is gray-brown and deeply furrowed. Its leaves are elliptic-oblong and have three to five lobes. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and can be found in forests, woodlands, and along streams.
