Description
Callicarpa areolata (also called Areolate Beautyberry, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to the Philippines. It is an evergreen tree, growing up to 8 meters tall, with a trunk up to 25 cm in diameter. Its leaves are simple, opposite, and elliptic to ovate-oblong in shape. It is found in tropical and subtropical forests, at elevations up to 1,000 meters.
