Ajuga laxmannii (also called Laxmann's Bugleweed, among many other common names) is a herbaceous perennial native to Europe and Asia. It is found in moist, shady areas, often in association with mosses and ferns. It has an erect stem with a single, terminal inflorescence, and its leaves are ovate and arranged in opposite pairs.
