Carya collina is a deciduous tree that can be grown from seed or cuttings. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Propagation can be done by division of the rootstock or by cuttings taken in spring or summer. Cuttings should be taken from the top of the plant and planted in a moist, well-drained potting mix. They should be kept in a warm, humid environment until they have rooted.
