Description
Isoetes habbemensis (also called Habbem's Quillwort, among many other common names) is a small, aquatic fern native to temperate regions of North America. It has a glossy, bright green frond with a triangular shape and a short, creeping rhizome. It grows in shallow water, often in the margins of ponds or streams.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Isoetes habbemensis has small, yellow-green flowers with 6 petals and 6 stamens. The seeds are small and dark brown. The seedlings are small, with a single leaf and a single stem.
