Herbertus azoricus (also called Azorean Herbertus, among many other common names) is a species of liverwort in the family Lejeuneaceae. It is found in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. It typically grows in moist, shady areas, such as in forests, on rocks, or in soil.
Cultivation and Propagation
Herbertus azoricus is a small, evergreen, perennial plant that grows in moist, shady places. It can be propagated by seed or by division of the rhizome. The seeds should be sown on a moist, sterile, nutrient-poor medium such as peat or vermiculite. The plants should be kept in a humid environment with temperatures between 10-20°C. They should be kept moist but not wet and should be fertilized with a weak solution of a balanced fertilizer every few weeks.
