Description
Streptocarpus porphyrostachys (also called Purple-spiked Streptocarpus, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Gesneriaceae. It is native to South Africa, and grows in rocky, grassy, and shrubby habitats.
Cultivation and Propagation
Streptocarpus porphyrostachys is an evergreen perennial with rosettes of oval, dark green leaves and clusters of small, funnel-shaped, white flowers in summer. It is best grown in a moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial shade. Propagate by division in spring or autumn.
