Description
Streptocarpus masisiensis (also called Masisi Streptocarpus, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree, usually growing up to 8 m tall. It is native to tropical regions of Africa, from Ethiopia to South Africa. It is found in dry woodlands, bushveld, and coastal forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Streptocarpus masisiensis is a herbaceous perennial plant that is native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It can be grown in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11. It prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is done through division of the rhizomes in spring or early summer.
